20 Minute Cancellation Policy — Strictly Enforced

At Gold Studios, accountability is part of how we care for one another. We’ve intentionally curated an inclusive, elevated space that is always evolving to better serve you. Mutual respect is an essential part of that experience.

I believe that respect begins with clarity. While our cancellation policy is shared across all of our platforms, I wanted to make it more accessible and easy to reference here. Thank you so much for taking the time to read along and for being a valued part of this space.

While unforeseen circumstances can happen, Gold Studios (Presley Poe) is unable to absorb the impact of late arrivals or no-shows that are outside of our control. Thank you for understanding and honoring the time reserved for you. This is co-creation and takes both people — you and me — to show up on time and fully prepared.


Common reasons that do not negate responsibility

  • Traffic
  • Childcare
  • Car problems
  • Alarm issues
  • Forgetting the day
  • Sickness

Please note that even if you call, email, or text to inform us of your situation, it does not negate the cancellation fee.


The cancellation policy states

  • 48 hours in advance or you will be subject to a 100% charge to your card on file.
  • If your card on file does not work, you will be blocked from scheduling until the fee is paid.
  • 24-hour cancellation results in a 50% charge of the service.
  • If your card on file does not work, you will be blocked until the fee is paid.
  • 48-hour cancellation notice via online canceling (preferred), calling, or email.

The cancellation fee will be processed upon

  • No call, no show
  • Being 20 minutes or more late
  • Calling the morning of to cancel
  • Less than 48-hour cancellation

Why this policy exists

1. Time Is the Only Non-Renewable Resource

  • Stylist: Loses paid working time or must rush services.
  • Client: May receive a shortened or rushed service.

2. Quality of Work Is Compromised

  • Stylist: Creativity and precision suffer under pressure.
  • Client: May not receive full detail work or finishing.

3. The Ripple Effect Impacts Others

  • Stylist: Delays cascade into the rest of the day.
  • Client: Later clients feel rushed or stressed.

4. Communication Breaks Down

  • Stylist: Less time to educate or check in.
  • Client: Misses clarity around expectations.

5. Financial Impact Is Real

  • Stylist: Loses income or absorbs unpaid labor.
  • Client: May pay full price for reduced service.

6. Emotional & Nervous System Stress

  • Stylist: Works under pressure, increasing fatigue.
  • Client: Feels hurried or uneasy.

Bottom Line

When an appointment starts late — regardless of reason — both the stylist and the client lose time, quality, and ease. Respecting scheduled start times ensures the best possible experience for everyone.

Presley is the owner of Gold Studio Experience, an all-inclusive space in Portland, Oregon dedicated to uplifting culture & community through the magic and love of hair.

The Consultation

Presley will guide you through an organic conversation where you’ll feed heard, seen & valued. This is the foundation of your visit, where we design a plan so that the brunt of the work is done in the salon, allowing you to do less and have better results at home.

Elevated Shampoo Experience

Enjoy our luxury shampoo lounge (you’re going to love the built-in lower back support) while your hair is detoxified, hydrated, and your scalp is renewed. These essential steps will be customized to your hair & scalp needs and may include:

  • Curl Steam Bath: a demi-permanent moisturizing treatment specifically designed for curly textures to penetrate deep into the hair shaft and last so much longer than a traditional topical treatment.

  • Invigorating Scalp Treatment: A gentle and effective process that removes plaque, encourages healthy hair growth, and removes product build up to reveal shiny, healthy curls.


Style & Finishing

Whether you leave the salon with beautifully shaped and styled curls or a smooth blowout, you’ll also be empowered with the knowledge and understanding to replicate the styling process at home. Presley will hold your hand every step of the way, explaining exactly what she is doing and why.

Home Care Breakdown

Being educated on how to care for and style your hair at home is only half of what you need to have success, which is why Presley will also send you home with the appropriate products for your needs. At Gold Studio we offer an array of results focused luxury products for all hair types and textures.

We kindly ask that no photos be taken of our retail products, as our exclusive lines are only available to be purchased within Gold Studio.

How to Arrive

Straight/Wavy Textures:

Relax this week on shampooing at home, and let Presley take care of you within the salon. It’s important that we don’t dehydrate the hair by over shampooing, so for the health and wellness of your hair and scalp please do not wash your hair within a day of your visit. 

Curly Textures:

Please come in with your hair down and styled as you would usually wear it. Next day hair is fine too!

Things to avoid: coming in with your hair straightened, tied up or pulled back with bobby pins or any sort of clip.

Salon Policies


  • Gold Studios is an inclusive and safe space that considers your emotions in regard to salon conversation.

    For this reason, we ask that we keep negative conversations about others at bay. It is for our mutual benefit and well-being that we abstain from conversations that perpetuate negativity. 

    Gold Studios reserves the right to refuse service to any person at any time for any reason.

  • Please contact us immediately if you are going to be late to your appointment.

    Your appointment may need to be rescheduled if you are more than 20 minutes late. Our cancellation/reschedule policy will apply and you will be charged 100% of your scheduled services. If time allows we may provide the option to receive a portion of your services and you will be charged 100% of the scheduled services.

    Thank you for communicating with us when you are delayed!

  • Cancellations/rescheduling accepted up to 48 hours before the scheduled service.

    Within 48 hours of the service, cancellations/reschedules will be charged 50% of the scheduled services. Appointments missed without notifying your service provider will be charged 100% of the scheduled services. Any accrued fees will automatically be charged to your card on file.

    In the event that a cancellation/no-show fee is processed and your card is declined you will be blocked from booking until the fee is fully paid.

  • CHILDREN UNDER 18

    Children under the age of 16 may book services, but they must stay under the supervision of an adult who is required to be with them the entire time.

    For the safety of your children we ask that if and when they are in attendance that they are cared for with the supervision of an adult at all times.

    VISITATION OF FAMILY & FRIENDS

    Unfortunately, our beautiful salon is just not quite big enough to house ourselves, clients, and friends of. Please keep family and friend visitation during appointments to a minimum, exceeding no more than 1 person. Thank you for understanding.  

  • Please visit each of our team members' pages directly to see their individual pricing. Each stylist ultimately sets the price investment for their services and will notify you if there will be any changes made to their current pricing.

    GRATUITY

    Did you love your experience and want to leave your stylist an extra thank you? Gratuity is always appreciated!

    Not sure how much to tip and feel uncomfortable asking? The industry average is 15-25% of the service.


  • SERVICE REFUNDS

    Gold studios itself does not refund money for any services. Please see your individual stylist’s policy for any concerns related to your services.

    PRODUCT RETURNS

    Unfortunately, we cannot accept product returns after 7 days from purchase.
